It was contrasting fortunes for the two sides following Round 1, with the Saints frustrated after losing to Warrington on the road, whilst the Leopards were victorious over Leeds Rhinos at home.
The Saints were forced into a shuffle of the starting lineup following Jack Welsby’s shoulder injury from the game against the Wolves, but Paul Rowley’s men were fired up to not only get their first win of the league season, but to put in a performance to be proud of in the first home match of the new era.
Recent meetings between the Saints and Leigh have been incredibly physical, bruising encounters, and heading into this latest matchup, that same fiery nature was expected.
