Our newest signing, Sione Mata’utia chatted to Saints TV for the first time, insisting he can’t thank the Club enough for helping him quickly settle into his new life in St Helens.
Mata’utia joined up with the rest of the group to kick off his pre-season training regime this week and the back-rower, who can also play at centre, says he has enjoyed getting to work with his new teammates with the likes of LMS and Big Alex Walmsley making him feel at home.
Mata’utia, who is the younger brother of Castleford Tigers’ Peter, reveals he wants to represent the Club and the town with respect, whilst he tells the fans what sort of player they can expect to see.
Sione also feels fellow NRL recruits Joel Thompson and Agnatius Paasi can help him get to grips with life in St Helens, talks about watching the Saints from his homeland in the Grand Final last year and how he can’t wait to meet the fans in the full interview available for Saints TV subscribers above.
