It’s time for you to vote on your try of the season for 2023, and with so many great tries it was hard to get it down to just these four.
Try A: Leah Burke. What a try this was against the Women’s Super League South Champions. A fine flowing move from right to left saw the ball land with Luci McColm. She drew her defender and fed the ball wide to League Burke who saw half a chance to run at the line, and that’s all she needs, as she beat three defenders to get to the line and touch down.
Try B: Katie Mottershead. A try started on the halfway line, with a flowing passing move. Amy Taylor took the ball to the line and laid it off to Channy, who played a flat ball to Jodie Cunningham to go through the line, with Katie Mottershead pushing with her. Jodie drew the fullback in and threw the pass inside to Katie to cross under the sticks.
Try C: Eboni Partington. Individual brilliance from Eboni here. Up against Warrington in the Quarter Final of the Challenge Cup with the ball behind the halfway line, Zoe Harris played the ball, and Amy Taylor found Eboni who ran to the line, and went straight through a gap, with nothing but field in front of her she raced away to dive in under the posts.
Try D: Phoebe Hook. History Made. The first ever Women’s Challenge Cup final at Wembley stadium. What a stage to pull off one of the best team tries we’ve seen all season. The ball went from left to right through four pairs of hands to find Zoe Harris, who played a cut out ball to Phoebe Hook, who beat two defenders to touch down in the corner.
