Watch the highlights, with our hydration partner iPRO Hydrate, as St.Helens Women took on Wigan Warriors away from home.
After getting an important away day win last time out over fellow Women’s Challenge Cup finalists Leeds Rhinos, Matty Smith’s side took on our oldest rivals in The Derby. It was a special occasion too as it would mark the first Women’s meeting in The Derby to be held at Wigan’s home stadium.
A tough challenge for the Saints, the Warriors sat at the top of the Betfred Women’s Super League table, but with one more game played than the Red V. Under Dennis Betts, Wigan have pushed themselves into being in the fight for the League Leader’s Shield alongside Saints, Leeds and York.
With every result and point important in such a tight race, St.Helens sought to keep up their winning run and extend it to eight matches across all competitions.
Matty Smith announced his lineup as below, however, there was to be late changes due to Rebecca Rotheram pulling up during the warm up, so Pippa Birchall stepped up onto the bench with Megan Williams starting.
