St.Helens Head Coach Paul Wellens speaks to the press ahead of our home league meeting with Warrington Wolves, this Friday night.
The Red V will face the Wolves three times in six weeks after being drawn against them in the Quarter Finals of the Betfred Challenge Cup. However, league matters are up first at the Totally Wicked Stadium this Friday night.
With Marc Sneyd making the move to join Sam Burgess’ men after a transfer fee agreement with Salford was met last week, the veteran halfback is set to make his Wire debut at the home of the Saints. Wellens discusses the quality of Sneyd, particularly his kicking game, allowing him to embed himself in likely very fast.
The big news however coming out of Wellens’ press conference this week was Kyle Feldt requiring surgery on a hand injury which may keep him unavailable for up to 12 weeks. There was a little more positive news though for Mark Percival, who came off during the game in our win over Leeds last time out, as he was running early this week with our physio staff.
Knowing there is plenty of fire in this local rivalry, Coach Wellens knows to expect Warrington upping their game and bringing their best.
