St.Helens were visiting the Millennium Stadium for a first meeting with the Rovers since their return to the BWSL.
The aim was to continue the Red V’s 100% start to the league season, having won three from three in the campaign so far, heading into this round.
In the previous fixture before this one, St.Helens got the better of Huddersfield Giants, 28-20, at Crusader Park, in what was a tight, tough tussle.
