The match marked the second time that the Red V and the Valkyrie have met in three weeks following on from the last meeting in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Semi-Final which saw our Saints beat York, 10-6.
Out for revenge and at their home ground, it was always going to be a tough, physical battle against York. However, with less than one week to go until Wembley for the Women’s Challenge Cup Final, St.Helens were fired up too, wanting to take momentum to the big game in London.
