On what was a remarkable night for the then 18-year-old (he turned 19 two days after the game!), George Whitby scored a hat-trick of tries as part of a 24-point haul in a strong home victory over Catalans Dragons.
Whitby’s first score from that game is the one you have chosen as the Try of the Month, and what a score it was!
Tristan Sailor’s footwork certainly caught the Dragons’ left edge out, with the speedster breaking the line from deep in his own line and George, like all good halves do, followed the run in support and shook off a Catalans defender to score in front of the West Stand.
