On the eve of our 150th anniversary as a club, we invited some of our past and present superstars from the men’s and women’s teams to celebrate all of our history.
Tanya Arnold hosted the event, with Eamonn Mcmanus, George Nicholls, Harry Pinner, Paul Laughlin, Bernard Dwyer, Sean Long, Chris Joynt, Paul Wellens, James Roby, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Emily Rudge, and Tara Jones, all talking at the event.
There was also a history lesson from Charles Nevin, the co-author of “So Long Our Home”, a book about the history of St. Helens RFC, and in particular Knowsley Road. He spoke us through the early years of the club, right the way through to the early 1960s.
